The hidden costs our clothes have on our health and what we can do about it: toxic fashion

When writing about the chemicals lurking in our wardrobes, I tapped into a personal experience – struggling with skin irritation from what I gathered as being caused by synthetic fabrics – to instantly create a relatable entry point.

From there, I backed up my concerns with research on textile production, consumer safety, and sustainable alternatives.

This piece offered a natural opportunity for product placement, particularly for brands focused on organic cotton/fibres, non-toxic dyes, or innovative fabric technology that won’t negatively impact our health.

By positioning these solutions within a story that speaks to everyday frustrations, the product recommendations felt essential rather than merely promotional.
